Dean School of Environment and Earth Sciences

Welcome and thank you for taking time to visit the webpage of School of Environment and Earth Sciences (SEES)

The environment as a life support system is a key determinant of human well-being. SEES offers multidisciplinary courses in environmental, earth sciences, natural resources management, climate change and development and provides an understanding of the interactions between the natural functioning of the planet earth and the consequences of human impact on the environment. The primary focus of the School is the links between human societal dynamics, environmental sustainability and the ability of the earth to withstand the interactions. The School currently offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes leading to Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees. The School therefore meets a key training gap for professionals who can make decisions and come up with interventions that cuts across environmental and development challenges facing society. The School also collaborates with other institutions in the region like NEMA, KEFRI, WRA, and County Government of Kisumu.

The popular sandwich Postgraduate Diploma in Education offered at Kisumu City campus has continued to fulfill its objectives of providing education training to graduate untrained teachers who require skills necessary for education professionals.
